Terms of service
Last updated 23 October 2026.
Draft: these terms are waiting for legal review. Items in [brackets] are filled in before launch.
The agreement
These terms are between you and [operator legal name]. By using Trivia you agree to them and to the privacy policy.
Accounts
- Anyone can join a game with a room code; no account is needed.
- You need to be 13 or over for your own account. Children under 13 need a parent's consent or a teacher's class, and get a restricted account: see the children's privacy notice.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account; tell us at once if you think someone else got in.
- Teachers who run classes also agree to the school data agreement.
Packs, nicknames and reviews
- Be kind. No hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or illegal content, and nothing that identifies a real person without their say-so, in packs, nicknames or reviews.
- What you publish must be yours to share. You keep ownership; you let us host, show and play it on Trivia for as long as it's published, and for the games already played with it.
- Moderators review packs before they reach the marketplace and may turn down, unlist or remove anything that breaks these terms. Anyone can report a pack or nickname.
- AI-written questions can be wrong. Check them before you publish; you're responsible for what you publish.
Paying
- Prices are shown before you pay, including any tax. Stripe takes the payment.
- Packs you buy stay yours, even if you stop subscribing to Trivia+.
- Trivia+ renews each month or year until you cancel in Settings → Billing. You keep it until the end of the period you paid for. Premium packs leave your library when it ends.
- Something wrong with a purchase? Email us and we'll put it right. [Refund window, and statutory cancellation rights wording for EU and UK consumers.]
Ending
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, telling you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us.
Our responsibility
We work to keep Trivia running and safe, but it's provided as is: games can be interrupted, and we can't promise it will always be available. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that the law doesn't let us limit.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email members before it takes effect. [Governing law and courts.]
